Raft Building On Camp

group race after a raft building activity

Raft Building is one of the fun activities during school camps in South Australia and a great team exercise that requires planning and teamwork. It involves teams of people building rafts, from barrels, tyre tubes, pvc pipes, rope and duct tape. The rafts come in all shapes and sizes, and it's only your imagination or creativity which limits what can be built!!

Raft building activity offers the developmental experience to plan as a group and stick to a plan or look at the processes of how and why the plan was changed. It enables everyone in the team to get involved and contribute, and works on communication skills.

Throughout our lives we repeatedly find ourselves in teams, in the classroom, the boardroom, or on the sports field, and have all experienced the challenges and thrill of working with other people towards a common goal.

Taking time to reflect on the team experience through experimental adventure provides tangible and immediate results for individual and team growth.
